Thordon is a proprietary elastomeric polymer originally developed in the late 1960's for use as a journal bearing for vertical pump applications. The material combines the properties of plastic with the toughness and abrasion resistance of rubber.

Thordon products performs exceptionally well in these operating conditions:

  • exposed to or submerged in water
  • in dirty abrasive environmental conditions
  • where shock loading is a factor

Thordon has continuously improved upon the original polymer developed and now manufactures many different grades and configurations to obtain optimum performance in different operating conditions.

Thordon journal bearings materials are:

►  Thordon XL

►  Thordon SXL

►  Thordon HPSXL

►  Thordon Compac

►  Thordon Composite

►  ThorPlas®
